Chapter 28: Finally Found You

Upon entering the estate and getting out of the car, with hostile glances from the surroundings, Ronan stood behind Jessica like a competent bodyguard.

"Are there many unfamiliar faces?" Jessica asked curiously. "And Middle Eastern people?"

Ronan didn't understand, so he didn't respond.

"Jessica!"

A bald man in his forties approached briskly. Jessica's tense face turned into a smile as she embraced the man. "Uncle Ruben."

The bald man patted her back and then looked at Ronan.

Jessica introduced, "My bodyguard, he saved my life. Without him, you wouldn't be seeing me."

Ruben nodded slightly and gestured, "Follow me."

Ronan followed Jessica, walking ahead until they reached the villa's entrance. There were many guards at the entrance, and someone reached out to stop him.

Remembering Ronan's words, Jessica said, "Let him in."

Ruben nodded and instructed, "Leave your weapons."

Another person approached with a handheld metal detector. Ronan cooperated fully, taking out his M9 pistol, magazine, and a long dagger and handing them to the first person. He allowed the second person to scan him with the detector.

"Go ahead." The two stepped aside to let him through.

Ronan followed Jessica, entering the villa's living room. A middle-aged handsome Latin man was coming down the stairs. "Jessica!"

Jessica was very excited.

Ronan said, "Give me the bag."

Jessica casually handed her shoulder bag to Ronan and hurriedly went to the middle-aged man, embracing him tightly.

The reunion of the father and daughter after a long separation was extremely harmonious, as they sat on the sofa and engaged in conversation.

Ronan didn't rush, waiting calmly.

It was quite evident that the middle-aged handsome Latin man was Antonio Garcia.

After waiting for such a long time, the person finally appeared.

Not long after, Jessica waved to Ronan, "Brown, come over!"

Holding Jessica's bag, Ronan walked briskly to where the sofa was.

Jessica introduced, "Dad, this is my bodyguard. He has saved me several times."

Antonio looked at Ronan and said with great generosity, "You've done well. You saved my only daughter. I want to reward you. What do you want?"

Ronan calmly replied, "I want Mr. Garcia to answer a few questions."

Jessica had thought Ronan would ask for money. Upon hearing this, she blinked and turned to look at him.

Antonio's smile receded as he sensed that something was amiss.

With swift movement, Ronan opened Jessica's bag, took out the Glock 26, pointed it at Antonio, and then sat on the sofa with his back to the wall.

The two were only three meters apart.

Jessica couldn't believe it and questioned Ronan, "What are you doing? He's not with the CIA! He's my father! I'm sure of it!"

Without looking at Jessica, Ronan kept the gun steadily pointed at Antonio, saying, "Tell your people not to move."

Ruben shouted, "Everyone, stay still! Young man, don't be impulsive. Whatever you want, just say it."

Then, puzzled gazes turned to Jessica. Although her hair was cut short and her hair color changed, it was indeed the Jessica they had watched grow up.

Jessica wanted to rush over and grab Ronan's arm, but Ronan's finger was resting on the trigger, and he warned, "Don't move! You know, I never hesitate to shoot."

Thinking about Ronan dispatching CIA agents like cutting vegetables, Jessica sat back on the sofa, a mix of confusion and anger on her face. "Why?"

Ronan didn't answer, saying, "Mr. Garcia, let's talk about the parchment separately."

Antonio wasn't foolish. Hearing the mention of the parchment, he immediately asked, "Are you Ronan, the Hound's son?"

"You're not Brown?" Jessica stared at Ronan in a daze, suddenly realizing, "You protected me to use me?"

Antonio, however, said, "You ruined my Moros Cartel and cut off one of my business channels!"

Ronan nodded. "I destroyed the drug trafficking route." He raised the gun slightly, aiming at Antonio's head. "Have the others leave."

Antonio tried to control his emotions. "Ruben, take Jessica and the others out! No, take Jessica away immediately. It's not safe here."

Jessica kept staring at Ronan, unable to believe his actions.

Ronan said, "Go!"

Jessica stood up, slowly backing away, a mix of sadness and anger on her face. "Why?"

Ronan remained silent.

Ruben approached to pull Jessica.

Antonio said, "Take her through the escape route I've prepared."

Ruben nodded and led Jessica away.

Jessica looked back at Ronan, suddenly understanding many things.

This man made her carry a gun with her! He claimed her father wanted to thank her in person!

It was all a lie!

For this very moment!

He was truly cunning, despicable, and deceitful!

Jessica regretted her lack of insight, bringing him in front of her father...

Antonio cooperated completely, and the already limited number of bodyguards started to withdraw.

Ronan left one person behind, instructing him to drop the gun and use a rope to tie Antonio to a thick marble column in the hallway.

Seeing the hesitation in the bodyguard's eyes, Antonio said, "Listen to him."

After the bodyguard finished tying Antonio, he exited the villa.

Ronan glanced at the secure restraints. "I hope you'll be cooperative."

Antonio nodded. "Ask your questions."

Outside, there were dozens of people. Ruben had taken his daughter away. As long as he found a chance to break free, he could immediately turn the situation around.

"What's the origin of the parchment?" Back in the hallway, Ronan raised his gun slightly, taking two magazines out of Jessica's bag and tucking them into his pocket.

If he fired a shot at random, the people outside would undoubtedly rush in. He wasn't afraid, but it would be difficult to continue questioning in detail.

Antonio cooperated very well, saying, "I acquired the parchment through bidding at an art auction in Los Angeles."

Los Angeles? Ronan remembered. The commission given to the Hound and his son originated from Los Angeles. Deis Demona had mentioned someone in the Los Angeles Hunter's Guild placing a commission.

He should consider going to Los Angeles.

Ronan continued, "Who was the person who commissioned it?"

Antonio spoke nonchalantly, "A British explorer, I can't recall the name. You don't need to look for him. I found him, extracted information, and killed him."

Ronan pressed further, "What did you extract?"

Antonio smiled, "The parchment was obtained by the explorer in the Middle East ruins. During a US air strike that destroyed a ruin, he happened to be there."

Ronan asked again, "Does the parchment have a second half?"

"It seems you're the one who killed Harvey," Antonio mentioned in passing to Harvey Gonzalez, "Technically, it's not a second half. Alongside the parchment in the same tomb, there's another book, the Golden Book, buried underground because the tomb was collapsing."

He shook his head, "But looking back, he couldn't find the location of the ruins, as if it were a mirage."

Ronan thought of something, "Have you been staying hidden recently, searching for this ruin?"

Antonio gestured with his foot towards the exit.

Using a column as cover, a leopard about the size of a large domestic cat silently climbed up behind Antonio. Its padded paws, which were thick and meaty, landed on the ground without making a sound.

This was a special leopard!

Its extended claws were extremely sharp, easily cutting through the ropes.

"Touching this book gives me a feeling that it will change my life, but apart from indecipherable text, there's nothing in it," Antonio said so much for a reason, "I found the explorer, inquired about the Golden Book, and the key might be in the Golden Book."

Ronan thought of the Dominion Book. Antonio's intuition wasn't wrong, but the opening conditions for the Dominion Book were too stringent.

Born from death, the merging of two souls...

Suddenly, Antonio raised his voice and loudly questioned, "You opened the parchment, didn't you?"

At the same moment, Ronan sensed danger and only had time to twist his gun toward the source of danger and fire a shot!

With a bang, the bullet hit the column, then ricocheted off, striking the leopard that had leaped out, causing it to burst into a spray of blood and tumble to the ground, letting out a mournful cry.

Antonio broke free from the ropes, his figure springing up and pouncing!

His movements were remarkably swift, unlike a pampered drug lord, more like an elite warrior.

Ronan didn't have time to retrieve his gun. His left hand slapped Antonio, causing Antonio to deflect, but his broad shoulder collided with Ronan's right arm, sending Ronan's Glock spinning out of his hand.

With a thud, both men fell to the ground.

Ronan delivered a fierce kick to Antonio's chest, quickly getting up first.

Antonio's back hit the sofa. Wiping his mouth, he also got up.

Ronan was about to retrieve his gun but sensed danger from behind!

Hastily lowering his head and turning around, a mottled figure flew past from one side and, at an extremely fast speed, pounced back!

Mentally reciting "Steel Claw," Ronan's hand turned into a claw, swatting at the incoming attack.

The leopard was incredibly agile, adjusting mid-air and raking its sharp claws across Ronan's hand, but Ronan's steel claw only managed to grab some yellow fur!

As soon as it landed, the leopard leaped again, evading Ronan's kick and arriving beside Antonio.

Its speed was astonishing, leaving people speechless.

However, its side was now stained red with blood!

"Roar—"

The leopard was clearly in pain.

Though the shot hadn't hit a vital point, it had wounded the leopard significantly.

Ronan only glanced at the leopard, feeling his stomach empty and craving food, craving the taste of leopard meat.

He wasn't even willing to restrain himself!

But in the end, he tore his gaze away.

That's right, it was it! Ronan had never seen a spirit leopard, but he could ascertain that this was the spirit leopard he needed to become a Pillager!

He had finally found the first type!
