Chapter 24: Werewolf Kill

Facing the interstate highway and lush vegetation-covered small hills, a motel was built with two rows of gray-walled and brown-roofed houses, with a hardened parking lot in between.

Considering the needs of large trucks, the parking lot was made quite large, spanning over forty meters in width.

Tonight, there were very few guests. Apart from two trucks and a few small cars, most of the parking spaces were empty.

Near the trucks' area, the sound of water echoed in the bathroom. Looking at the darkening sky, Ronan hesitated for a moment, then summoned the Book of Command and took out a dozen soul fragments, scattering them on the empty ground in front of the door.

People without spiritual sight couldn't see the soul fragments.

In case of any trouble, the fire trap might come in handy.

Jessica came out of the bathroom and sat on the large bed to rest.

This was a family guest room with one large and one small bed.

Upon hearing the sound of a car engine outside, Ronan slightly opened the curtain. A BMW drove into the parking lot, circled around, and randomly chose a parking space to stop.

A bald man and a middle-aged man got out of the car and went to the trunk to fetch their luggage.

When the trunk of the BMW was opened, Silvia, the bald man, took advantage of the car's body to quickly pick up the AK rifle he had brought and waited for instructions.

Next to him, Alessandro assembled the UMP45 and scanned over a pickup truck before fixing his gaze on a room about twenty meters away.

That man was quite cunning, opening up a few extra rooms and parking the car in front of one of the empty rooms.

However, the scent left behind couldn't escape Alessandro's nose.

Alessandro pressed the communicator on his collar and said, "Room 1005, open fire and force him out!"

In another row of rooms, Owen used an SUV to climb onto the roof, hiding behind a wooden frame under a signal tower, and set up an M40 sniper rifle. The barrel quickly aimed at the target room.

Inside the room, Ronan's hunter senses were frantically warning him.

At the same time he lay down, he shouted, "Get down!"

Jessica immediately rolled off the bed and landed on the floor.

Bang—

The wooden walls were penetrated by bullets, and the decorations inside the walls flew up in countless fragments. The bullets passed through the room and pierced through the opposite wall, flying off to an unknown destination.

Ronan tried to reach for the automatic rifle leaning against the wall, but he sensed a great danger before his hand could reach it. He forcefully pushed off the wall with his feet and swiftly darted along the floor.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The gunshots rang out one after another, and bullets pierced through the walls, hitting the floor and creating holes.

Either the sniper had incredibly good luck, or Ronan had incredibly bad luck. One of the bullets hit the M4 directly.

As soon as the gunfire started, Jessica immediately hid under the bed.

Ronan rolled on the spot and took cover beside the room's door. Gunshots sounded again, piercing through two walls of the room.

This couldn't go on; they had to find a way to take down the sniper.

Outside, Silvia, the bald man, lifted the AK and was about to spray bullets.

Alessandro held his gun down, cautioning, "Watch out for accidental injury to the princess!"

Clang!

The room's door opened, and someone exposed their head.

On the rooftop, Owen fired repeatedly and hit accurately, causing a hat to fall to the ground.

Almost simultaneously, someone broke the window and jumped out, firing a M9 pistol.

The distance between the two sides was considerable, and Ronan hurriedly shot back but missed the sniper.

Instead, he forced Owen to withdraw his head.

As soon as Ronan's feet touched the ground, he pounced and took cover behind a large truck.

The sound of AK gunfire echoed, and debris flew around the window outside.

Owen exposed his head again, aiming his sniper rifle towards the truck.

Alessandro pointed towards the truck, and Silvia cautiously moved forward with the AK.

The truck was too high, obstructing their line of fire.

Taking advantage of the cover provided by the truck, Ronan rushed to the vicinity of the truck's front at the fastest speed, gripping the M9 with both hands, aiming at the rooftop on the opposite side.

Owen also spotted Ronan and was about to shoot.

But suddenly, he heard the sound of a gunshot and felt something enter his head.

Owen was a CIA undercover agent in northern Mexico, skilled among ordinary people, but facing the close-range Ronan, he was no match at all.

He fell backward, rolled off the rooftop, and landed on the SUV's roof.

Owen was dead, but Alessandro's tactical objective was achieved.

He had forced Ronan out, and they were now only twenty meters apart!

Silvia's AK turned towards the front of the truck, and he fired a barrage of shots.

Alessandro seized the opportunity and rushed towards the truck with astonishing speed. He used the truck's guardrail to gain momentum and jumped onto the carriage.

Ronan had already retreated, falling backward and catching a glimpse of Silvia's legs from under the vehicle.

Bang!

The first shot hit Silvia's ankle.

Silvia fell, and Ronan shot another bullet while lying on his back.

Bang!

The bullet hit just below Silvia's left chest. His AK fell far away, and he convulsed, unable to move.

Then, Ronan shifted his aim upward and fired continuously!

The half-exposed body and arm of Alessandro, along with the UMP45 submachine gun, appeared like they were hit by bullets, becoming live targets.

The submachine gun fell first, and Alessandro was hit multiple times, falling from the top of the carriage.

With continuous shooting, Ronan emptied his magazine. Just as he was about to breathe a sigh of relief and reload, the person who should have been dead suddenly stood up and slapped his right arm with great force.

The gun in Ronan's hand flew away, and he was pushed forward a few steps, almost falling to the ground.

He propped himself up with his hand, regained balance, and quickly drew the waist knife.

The bullets he had shot before caused Alessandro's body to be bloody and distorted, ultimately affecting his ability to pursue.

Muscles kept wriggling, and flattened bullet heads squeezed out from the wounds and fell to the ground.

As Ronan turned around, he witnessed this scene and couldn't help but mutter, even though he had considered encountering various oddities, "What kind of ghost thing is this?"

Alessandro grinned, revealing four long canines, "Hello, Ronan. I am Alessandro."

His mouth and nose protruded, and his skin on the face and hands turned black, covered with dark blue fur. Due to the deformation of his mouth, his voice changed, "This is our first and last meeting..."

But before he could finish speaking, a dagger thrust toward his neck!

Ronan wasn't foolish enough to wait for Alessandro to complete his transformation. He was slightly surprised but immediately attacked. Regardless of what this creature was, it was an enemy, and he would kill it first and figure out the rest later!

Only a dead enemy is a good enemy!

His dagger thrust out swiftly, but Alessandro was even faster!

A huge claw with sharp, dark blue nails reached out towards Ronan's wrist.

Ronan was already skilled in knife combat. He twisted his wrist midway and thrust the dagger towards Alessandro's arm joint.

Suddenly, Alessandro opened his mouth wide and lunged at Ronan to bite.

Ronan quickly dodged, creating some distance between him and Alessandro.

At this moment, Alessandro had already transformed into a werewolf covered in dark blue fur! Having encountered voodoo zombies and voodoo witches before, Ronan wasn't surprised to see a werewolf.

Not being surprised, he wouldn't panic and make low-level mistakes.

The werewolf leaped forward, with its claws in the front and its large mouth in the back, just like a wolf.

Ronan dodged sideways, and his long dagger stabbed towards the werewolf's neck from the side.

One of the werewolf's large claws swung over and slapped away the dagger, while the other claw aimed at Ronan's head and face.

Ronan silently recited the "Steel Claw" technique and met the werewolf's claw with his hand.

With a dull thud, he was weaker in both strength and speed compared to the werewolf, and his arm was forced down, causing it to ache.

The werewolf's head turned around, and its large mouth lunged at Ronan!

Ronan didn't dare to test the hardness of the werewolf's teeth with his head, so he used the dagger to try and stab the werewolf's throat.

The werewolf's body turned, and although the dagger stabbed into its shoulder fur, its waving claw aimed at Ronan's neck.

Ronan tried his best to dodge, avoiding the vital neck area, but the werewolf's claws struck and scratched his left shoulder and arm.

He was thrown sideways, and the clothes on his shoulder and left arm were torn, leaving three wounds!

Fortunately, he managed to dodge quickly, and the werewolf was also affected by the gunshot wound, so the wounds were not too deep.

Alessandro's bloodstained nails passed over the werewolf's mouth. If it weren't for the dissipation of magic several centuries ago, causing his strength to decline continuously, and only in recent years had the magic awakened and his power started to recover, he would have torn Ronan to pieces with just these few attacks.

Without giving Ronan any time to catch his breath, Alessandro pounced again!

Ronan was weaker than this dark-furred werewolf in both strength and speed, so he no longer confronted it head-on and switched to evasive combat.

He tried to run towards the door at an opportune moment, but the faster werewolf blocked his way.

Direct confrontation was difficult, so Ronan decided to change his strategy and target the gun!

Alessandro knew that Ronan was familiar with firearms, so he had already been on guard and didn't give him a chance, using his speed to force him into close combat.

Ronan could only rely on his short dagger and "Steel Claw" technique to barely hold on.

But in just a moment, he received several more wounds on his back!

Fortunately, taking advantage of the force from the werewolf's collision, Ronan managed to create some distance.

Alessandro stepped on the UMP45 with his foot, his hands turned into claws, making it impossible for him to use the gun, so he kicked it dozens of meters away!

His gunshot wounds were almost healed!

Ronan kept gasping for breath, trying to figure out a strategy against the enemy.

The gunshot wounds affected the werewolf, but once they were healed, the werewolf would completely overpower him in strength!

In front of the werewolf, he was like an ordinary person facing a fierce beast.

How could a person defeat a fierce beast?
